5/23/2023 0 Comments Lyon healy guitar serial numbers![]() (There's a complicated history of buyouts, contract-building, mergers, and a fire or two to sort out when dealing with Chicago instrument manufacturers.) The builder who restored it thought it dates from the late 1920s, though by that time the shape of the bridge had changed from a flattened-pyramid to one I associate with the Kay and Regal factories. The newest possibility is Hubert Pleijsier's History of Washburn Guitar: Pre-war Instruments Styles, Guitars, Mandolins, Banjos and Ukuleles 1883-1940, which I haven't seen yet but promises more detailed information than, say, the nearly-useless 1996 book by John Teagle.ĭoes your "New Model" label also say "1897 Style"? I have what in the 1889 catalog would be a Style 102 ("standard" size, bound top, rosewood body), serial number 163607. ![]() Good luck on that-I've never found a source that was much help in placing Lyon & Healy products closer than a decade or two.
